As of October 14, 2026, 37 of 37 Minnesota scratch games still have a top prize unclaimed; first on our list: Mystery Prize Crossword ($20), with all 3 of its $300,000 top prizes still unclaimed (100%). The biggest top prize still out there is $1,000,000 on Casino Millions ($50, 1 left).

No payout figure, on purpose. Minnesota publishes only the prizes of $500 and up for each game, with how many were printed and how many are left. A payout, an expected value or the odds today each need every prize level and how many were printed, so for Minnesota we show exactly what its lottery publishes and compute nothing from it. A figure built from part of a table would be wrong, not rough: it is how one state's partial table produced games that appeared to pay back more than they cost. How we treat partial prize tables.

Why there is no payout figure for Minnesota
Every other state on this site is ranked by current payout: how much of each dollar still in a game comes back as prizes. That figure needs every prize level and how many of each were printed. Minnesota publishes only the prizes of $500 and up for each game, with how many were printed and how many are left. So the figure cannot be computed, and an estimate would not be a rough version of the truth — it would be wrong in a direction nobody could see.
What Minnesota does publish answers the question most people bring to this page: which games still have their top prizes, and how many. Those counts are shown here as published, every day, with the date the Lottery last updated them. The overall odds on each game are Minnesota's own printed figure, not ours. The method is on our methodology page.
About Minnesota scratch games
Minnesota sells scratch games in price points from $1 to $50, and the Minnesota Lottery publishes, for every game on sale, each prize of $500 and up with how many were printed and how many are still unclaimed — its own "Unclaimed Scratch Game Prizes", updated several times a day, which says itself that "only prizes of $500 or more are listed". Each game's page adds the full prize structure with the odds of every level, and the overall odds. Below $500 it publishes no count of what is left at all, and a game whose top prize is under $500 has nothing listed, so it is not on this page.
That is why Minnesota's pages here carry no payout, expected value or current odds: each needs every prize level, and the small prizes, most of a game's winning tickets, are exactly the ones Minnesota does not count. What its figures do answer exactly is how much of each game's big prizes is still out there, and because Minnesota publishes how many were printed, games here are ordered by the share of their top prizes still unclaimed, then by Minnesota's overall odds.
Once a game's sales end, Minnesota stops publishing its counts, so it leaves this list; prizes can be claimed for a year after a game ends.
Where to buy: licensed Minnesota Lottery retailers across the state. Small prizes can be cashed at retailers; larger ones are claimed from the Lottery, and the back of the ticket gives the exact limits.
Tax: Minnesota withholds state income tax and 24% federal on prizes over $5,000; the lottery tax calculator has the rates. Withholding is not the same as what you finally owe. For anything large enough to change your tax bracket, talk to an accountant before you claim.
Scratch-game outcomes are fixed when the tickets are printed; nothing you read here changes the ticket in your hand. A top prize still being unclaimed says nothing about your chance of winning it. Play for entertainment, with money you can afford to lose.
Minnesota scratch games: common questions
- Which Minnesota scratch games still have top prizes left?
- 37 of the 37 games Minnesota lists, as of October 14, 2026. First in our order (games with a top prize still unclaimed first, by the share of their top prizes still unclaimed, then by the better overall odds): Mystery Prize Crossword ($20, 3 of 3 $300,000 top prizes left); $500,000 Multiplier ($20, 3 of 3 $500,000 top prizes left); Perfect 10s ($10, 3 of 3 $200,000 top prizes left).
- What is the biggest top prize still unclaimed in Minnesota?
- $1,000,000, on Casino Millions ($50), with 1 still unclaimed as of October 14, 2026.
- How many Minnesota scratch games have no top prize left?
- None, as of October 14, 2026: every game Minnesota lists still has at least one top prize unclaimed.
- Why is there no payout or expected value for Minnesota?
- Minnesota publishes only the prizes of $500 and up for each game, with how many were printed and how many are left. A payout needs every prize level and how many were printed; without them any figure would be invented, so we publish none and show what the lottery publishes instead.
- Which Minnesota scratch game has the best overall odds?
- Money ($50), at 1 in 2.76 as Minnesota prints them. Overall odds count every prize, most of them small, and are fixed when the game is printed.
- How often is this updated?
- We read Minnesota's official prize figures every day; the last read was October 14, 2026. Claims reach the counts only when the lottery processes them, so a prize can be won and not yet shown as claimed.
