No payout figure, on purpose. Vermont publishes only the top prize levels of each game, and how many of each are left, but not how many were printed. A payout, an expected value or the odds today each need every prize level and how many were printed, so for Vermont we show exactly what its lottery publishes and compute nothing from it. A figure built from part of a table would be wrong, not rough: it is how one state's partial table produced games that appeared to pay back more than they cost. How we treat partial prize tables.

Every Vermont instant ticket on sale, biggest top prizes still in play first

46 games, ordered games with a top prize still unclaimed first, by the size of that top prize, then by how many are left, then by the better overall odds. Each row is what Vermont publishes for the game, and the game's own page here shows its top prize levels, with every count as the lottery printed it. Vermont does not say how many top prizes each game started with, so a count is shown on its own rather than as a share.

Why there is no payout figure for Vermont

Every other state on this site is ranked by current payout: how much of each dollar still in a game comes back as prizes. That figure needs every prize level and how many of each were printed. Vermont publishes only the top prize levels of each game, and how many of each are left, but not how many were printed. So the figure cannot be computed, and an estimate would not be a rough version of the truth — it would be wrong in a direction nobody could see.

What Vermont does publish answers the question most people bring to this page: which games still have their top prizes, and how many. Those counts are shown here as published, every day, with the date the Lottery last updated them. The overall odds on each game are Vermont's own printed figure, not ours. The method is on our methodology page.

About Vermont instant tickets

Vermont sells instant tickets in price points from $1 to $30, and the Vermont Lottery publishes them all in one table on vtlottery.com, "Outstanding Prizes": for each game its price, its top prize levels — one to seven of them, usually everything of $500 and up — with how many of each are still unclaimed, and three figures for the game as a whole: how many tickets it printed, the percentage of them sold, and the total of its prizes still unclaimed in dollars. Each game's own page adds its overall odds and start date, and a second table gives the end of sale and last day to redeem once they are set.

What Vermont does not publish is how many of each prize were printed, or anything about the levels below the top ones, where most winning tickets are. So Vermont's pages here carry no payout, expected value or current odds. Its three game figures are shown as Vermont's own and never combined: the unclaimed dollars set against the tickets still unsold would read as a payout, and it would be wrong, because Vermont's unclaimed total counts prizes on tickets already sold and not yet cashed. Games are ordered by what the counts can honestly support: games with a top prize still unclaimed first, the biggest top prize first, then by how many are left.

A game with an end of sale here is still sold until that date; its prizes can then be redeemed for a year. Vermont keeps games on its table for a while after their last day to redeem; those are not shown.

Where to buy: licensed Vermont Lottery agents across the state. Small prizes can be cashed at agents; larger ones are claimed from the Lottery, and the back of the ticket gives the exact limits.

Tax: Vermont withholds 6% state income tax and 24% federal on prizes over $5,000; the lottery tax calculator has the rates. Withholding is not the same as what you finally owe. For anything large enough to change your tax bracket, talk to an accountant before you claim.

Instant-ticket outcomes are fixed when the tickets are printed; nothing you read here changes the ticket in your hand. A top prize still being unclaimed says nothing about your chance of winning it. Play for entertainment, with money you can afford to lose.

Vermont instant tickets: common questions

Which Vermont instant tickets still have top prizes left?
35 of the 46 games Vermont lists, as of October 14, 2026. First in our order (games with a top prize still unclaimed first, by the size of that top prize, then by how many are left, then by the better overall odds): 300x The Cash ($30, 3 $150,000 top prizes left); Patriots ($10, 3 $50,000 top prizes left); Money Multiplier ($10, 1 $50,000 top prize left).
What is the biggest top prize still unclaimed in Vermont?
$150,000, on 300x The Cash ($30), with 3 still unclaimed as of October 14, 2026.
How many Vermont instant tickets have no top prize left?
11 games are still on sale with every top prize claimed, including Luxury Cash ($30), Strike It Rich ($20), Cash Game ($30). Buying one cannot win its headline prize.
Why is there no payout or expected value for Vermont?
Vermont publishes only the top prize levels of each game, and how many of each are left, but not how many were printed. A payout needs every prize level and how many were printed; without them any figure would be invented, so we publish none and show what the lottery publishes instead.
Which Vermont instant ticket has the best overall odds?
Luxury Cash ($30), at 1 in 2.70 as Vermont prints them. Overall odds count every prize, most of them small, and are fixed when the game is printed.
How often is this updated?
We read Vermont's official prize figures every day; the last read was October 14, 2026. Claims reach the counts only when the lottery processes them, so a prize can be won and not yet shown as claimed.
