What to expect from a new game
A game on its launch day has every prize unclaimed, so the odds and payout you see are the printed ones. They start moving the moment prizes are claimed: the payout drifts down as top prizes are hit and up as ordinary tickets are sold without hitting them. That means a new release is neither a bargain nor a trap on its own; it is simply a game with no history yet. What a new game does offer is certainty. The top prizes are definitely still available, which is not true of a game that has been on shelves for a year.
